Hollow (a Jeffrey's Sonnet)

Folder:
Sonnets

Against a weathered window pane,

the steady drips of falling rain

tattoo a beat of season passed

upon a heart of rusted chrome,

who finds it's shadow far from home...

yet captured by emotion, glassed.

The world is vast, though still remained

her melody, forever stained.

Intimation in hooded eyes...

as crimson tinctured mem'ries clung

like syrup drizzled on a tongue;

His dignity, a hollow prize.

A tear belies the stolid stance.

On second glance, he slowly dies.
