Staring at this snow white screen
Attempting to harness the vivid scenes
That invisible scroll in my mind’s eye
The images flashing quickly by
I type a line of prose and then
Grimacing, I erase and begin again.
Let it go.
How do I write what’s on my mind
My head is bursting with thoughts confined
Jumbled visions, incoherent words
Confusion, chaos, dreams unheard
Still I endeavor to type once more
Yet the screen remains blank as it was before.
Let it go.
I walk away and pace around
My fingers itching, I sit back down
Tap, tap, tapping, I start anew
The wall goes up again, right on cue
How to continue I do not know
Accepting defeat, I let it go.
