Ocean Serenade

Folder:
Love's Sorrow

Calls of passion heard plaintively, from over the sea,

Aqua waves speaking of most romantic charms,

Solemn oaths whispered by the salty ocean breeze,

Siren's song beckons into ever waiting arms.

Reaching across vast barriers of miles and miles on end,

White ribbons of briny foam connecting the shores,

A liquid transmittance cable, through which she sends

Promises of undying love forevermore.

Melodies accompanied by graceful seagulls' cries,

Lyrics unsung, yet clearer than any summer day,

Music amplified by the ocean's majestic size,

Intoning more than mere words could ever say.

Let not the listening heart be further abused,

For alas, this song ends in sorrowful regret,

The ocean serenade of love was sadly refused,

Left to wither and die from painful neglect.

Soft pearly petals of roses will be strewn,

Borne on the swells of shimmering emerald tides,

A wordless apology sent from a siren's lagoon,

On tear-filled and briny, foamy ribbons of white.
