their story

Once Upon a Time

I had a story to tell.

No, Once Upon a Time

I thought I’d have a story to tell.

But here I am still listening

To someone else’s

Once Upon a Time.

They were all laughing at me

For being a freak.

Jason reminded them I spoke when spoken to.

The poor little mute girl next to me never spoke

So Jason joined in

When they taunted her.

I kept on staring, a defenseless kid.

Or maybe I agreed with Jason.

She didn’t show much emotion

Just shook with fear,

They just shook with laughter.

And I was more attracted to the laughter.

See I actually wanted to laugh at her with them.

I was just a bit to shy for that.

So I sat there quietly and innocently;
