The Air That I Breathe

A rewrite of The Hollie's song by the same name.

If only I had't given in to that depaved wish

I really guess I should have given it a pass

But I was just so filled

With the need and the greed

More powerful then even the lure of cigarettes

Or sound sleep to be found

Something I had not dared before

To eat

Something so taboo

I could not resist to eat

What before I had only read of

Now the guilt consumes

Partaking of you

Has left me far from peaceful

So wan and tired

This is more of a mess then I ever ask

There's no more curiosity

To be desired

Only long for the past peace

I once carried with me

Everyday

And this deception

Leaves me so weak

Sleep, oh death angel

I long only for the freedom of your sleep

Chorus

These days

Most times I fear

Because of my depaved need

They will take away

Freedom's air that I breathe

If only I had't had to have you

Chorus 2X
