Illuminated every curve and line
perfected in the shadows, a figure unlike mine
that Eden-made woman that dances beside me
upon the wall, her beauty is set free
and as I move my body, I watch her dance
in the candlelight, I'm caught in her trance
trace hands over hips and swirl around
in her I've discovered peace waiting to be found
for as I look down, I'm met with dismay
as that body I'm not putting on display
but in the solitude of this small darkened room
I'll watch the shadow flutter and bloom
the darkened figure has no face
but to me, she could easily take my place.
