I looked back once,

I looked back twice,

Something's left there,

Left within my mind,

Now I'm empty,



I took my stand,

I fell back down,

Made my mark,

And I held my ground,

Now I feel alone,



I held his hand,

I felt his heart,

Silence rang on,

And dread tore me apart,

In one instant,



I felt his wings,

I heard his song,

His echoing voice,

Still pushes me along,

He'll carry me there.



And then my angel,

Set me free,

Let me live my life,

And believe,

Though I will remember,

Our time,

He left me without,

My own mind,

My thoughts left behind.
