"Damn your hopes and dreams to hell,
For with them in your heart, you will surely fail!"
I took my sword within my fist,
And uttered silence within a whisper,
Closed these eyes which cannot see,
Then took these lips and kissed her.
"Farewell, my love" my words did follow,
"I'll meet you East, upon the morrow."
And on my steed, I flew away,
Within the mists along the moor,
Until the castle fell before my sight,
And I was knocking on freedom's door.
"Halt! Who goes, this trecherous night?
Is that the warrior who will win our fight?"
I nodded once, then turned the rein,
Kicked my horse and ran through the gate,
Hearing the noise of metal on wood,
Knowing now that my entrance wasn't late.
"You'll save us from our despair?
You'll risk your life for your country fair?"
Bowing my head, I'd vowed my life,
In honour I'd venture, in truth and pride,
And took along with me a thousand men,
We would go bold, we would not hide.
"Oh fear, villians, you shall be slain!
We'll fight you forever and forever again!"
The clash of steel against steel died,
As the men fell one by one,
With dying breaths they called for a stop,
For our war was ended, no one had won.
"Look! The sun! She rises high!
She's showing us her glorious sky!"
And sure enough, she lead us there,
Within the mountains and to our destiny,
And there in the East, my love would wait,
And then, resting my sword, I took her with me.
