Critical

They chain me, they break me,

Yet will they ever see?

This endless stupidity,

That they set upon me?

And I sit here alone,

Alone and unseen,

To me it’s a prison,

To them it’s a dream,

And I die here alone,

Alone and unseen,

To me it’s a sentence,

To them it’s a dream,

Drowning in tears, they cannot see,

Gasping for breath that seems to escape me,

I see them now, laughing before me,

I can’t join them…

Frantic wailing, they never hear,

Arms flailing, trying to catch that breath,

I see it now, drifting before me,

I can’t reach for it…

Here in this cage,

Consumed by rage,

Here in this bed,

Surrounded by death,

This is how they treat us! The so called insane,

Yet could they even imagine, the depth of our pain?!
