So I walked
Through thatch-eave shadows and firelight,
Past all those ne’er-do-wells and crippled ones,
Searching.
My eyes were clouded…
Darkness and light fused in a halo
As the gloom pushing through the gloaming
Shattered a stillness.
Vision’s visage rippled
And a chaos cowl enfolded me;
Through the haze of dust and ashes
Death died and was reborn.
Yet through all of this
I could see different answers,
And future understanding lay
In the hand enfolding mine.
