Sometimes I wish I could be not just me:
The rhythms of my days are not my own.
Do I intrude on your reality?
My eyes grow cloudy when they most should see;
Trees have no beauty, sounds of music drone;
Sometimes I wish I could be not just me.
I’m human, naught but human could I be;
Why do I chafe so when this truth is shown?
Do I intrude on your reality?
I wish to have another destiny;
This one I grabbed too fast when it was thrown.
Sometimes I wish I could be not just me.
Some other thing holds to me, I’m not free;
I’m tied to lives that are beyond my own.
Do I intrude on your reality?
As ever, I’d walk through my own debris
If only I could stay untied, alone.
Sometimes I wish I could be not just me;
Do I intrude on your reality?
