soldiers pact

too young souls on their way to becoming men,
during boot camp they became each others friend,
they both had sons and both had wife,
so they made a pact if one lost their life,
after the other got back and the war was won,
that they would tell the wife and the son,

that your father was proud of you, you made him glow,
and please tell my wife I love her so.

everywhere they were sent there was fighting,
and everywhere they went it was frightening,
everywhere they were protecting each other,
they weren't just soldiers they were brother,
After getting into every battle, every fight,
they made the same pact every night,

tell my son and tell my wife,


that your father was proud of you, you made him glow,
and tell my wife I love her so.

 

then out of nowhere, one awful day,
a snipers round made its way,
the soldier held his friend in his arms,
so emotional, he could barely hear the alarms,
this was the day they both had dread,
the dying soldier looked up and said,

 

tell my son I'm proud of him, he made me glow,
and tell my wife I......
