I left it behind long ago
I walked away
It all died that day to me
Once upon a time
Their was a boy
He was a proud child
Never backed down
Always kept marching
All around him people came like rain
They came strong and furious
But the next day
Nothing but a forgotten dream
And so he marched
He never tried to act tough
Never cared what people thought
Just his pride, friends and family
No one but the close knew of him
And so… he marched
Once upon a time their was boy
In a world full of crime and destruction
There was a boy who tried to stop it all
He tried, and he made it worse
But he marched
He realized that the life he wanted to stop
Was exactly the life he had chose
So one day he spoke of this
Of greater days when this would be in the past
They laughed, but he marched
They all said it’s what we do, where we live
We have no choice, but he refused to believe
So he tried to stop, and he went on with his life
He did well in school and went to get a job
All of this and still, he marched
He stopped that life, not completely
For once in a while on rare days, he would be back
For his family he could never completely leave
You can’t say no to family
And so… he marched
In a time long ago
I left a life behind
I tried to forget about it all
But the dreams, they don’t stop
