The Journey Home

The past is the past
It’s etched into stone
Even the darkness demons
Should be given room to atone

Please forgive a man
That has lost his way
Whose fallen by the wayside
But sees a brighter a day

From the deepest of the pits
He is willing to arise
With a newfound commitment
That is evident in his eyes

The window to the soul
If only one would gaze
And search for the answers
Which are sure to amaze

Claw for the truth
Buried beneath the dirt
And there you’re sure to find
Man immersed in hurt

For what was destroyed
The life that could have been
Lost to his youth
Play the violin

The anthem of remorse
That echoes through his life
And inflicts such a pain
That causes such a strife

But he only dreams of hope
For that bridge is always there
Rebuilding it is the path
To that castle in the air

Always keep the faith
And remember what is real
Never doubt the path
And your God shall reveal

The journey back to home
The road back to peace
The pain everlasting
Has come home to cease
