She's a rollercoaster, a carousel,
an almond eyed attraction
Expending all her energy
to find the next distraction
She hopes to find the kind of care
she knows she would impart
And not be cast aside again
like so many times her heart
Round and round, her life spins freely,
almost out of synch
with the topsy-turvy ups and downs
that make this so distinct
How do you trust amusement
when you become the muse?
Get inside and buckle down,
the track becomes your shoes.
But also trust the carny
who controls the show
To engineer and tune your engine
and knows when to let go.
