Warm Breeze

As I walked alone,

down this cold and lonely street,

a warm breeze drifts by.

I wondered to myself,

why such a warmth,

at the wee morning hours,

late in December?

I soon forgot the breeze,

and continued on my journey home.

I stopped at the crosswalk,

and all at once,

a warm breeze consumed me.

I could have sworn,

that my entire body lifted,

right off the ground.

I felt your presence,

right there next to me.

Your cologne filled the air.

Suddenly all these memories came back,

and as my feet touched the ground,

the warm breeze left.

Leaving my heart full of memories,

my eyes full of tears,

and mind with a new plan.

I couldn't go home,

for that's not where I belonged.

I was headed in the wrong direction,

so I turned around,

followed the warm breeze,

and started my new journey,

in search for you.
