Dig

Folder:
August 2004 Poetry

I dig this place of residence,

deeper and deeper into senselessness.

No light, no sun, to guide my way.

A dark lonely hole is where I'll stay.

My thoughts, no longer, I cannot find.

The shadows come and fill my mind.

One minute happy I'm on my cloud,

the next I'm falling and hit the ground.

So now I must dig, dig from this place,

to find my freedom, find my face.

No longer me, I'm someone else,

my soul cast far upon a high shelf.

My heart's been torn right out of my chest,

so digging this hole is what seems best.

I'm destined to be here, my new home.

I dug this dark hole, now I'm all alone.
