A New Wall Rises

Folder:
August 2002 Poetry

Every time I think of the past,

a new wall rises around me,

so that no one can touch me,

no one can hurt me,

no one can see the real me.

I don’t want to hurt you,

but a new wall rises.

I don’t know how to deal,

with a love like this.

My heart has been touched,

but my body left barren,

all when a new wall rises.
