I want night,

I want darkness.

It's where I belong.

With crickets chirping,

and frogs croaking,

proclaiming midnight's song.

I want night.

I want shadows.

No moon in sight.

No rays of sun,

nor street lamps lit.

Not one strand of light.

I want night.

I want solitude.

100% alone.

With no one near,

to break my heart,

in this night I call my home.
