Precious

Folder:
July 2002 Poetry

The moon shines down upon us,

as we lay in this grassy clearing.

No one but the owl to burden us.

Nothing but the twinkling stars

and exuberant moon

in sight.

Our shelter,

a blanket of blackened sky,

amidst tiny stars.

Our warmth on this cool Autumn night,

each other’s arms wrapped around us.

This is all we need,

each other.

I adore nights like this,

in sweet solitude with you.

I wouldn’t trade any of this,

for the most precious diamonds and jewels in the world.

For you are far more precious,

to me.
