Sitting Pretty

Folder:
Improv 2002

Sitting so pretty,

in the corner of her room.

This girl,

this young woman,

cries.

Sitting so pretty,

in the back of the class.

Checking her make-up,

as if it would fade.

Sitting so pretty,

back to her corner.

Tears flowing.

She’s unhappy,

with who she is.

Thinking,

she can never be good enough.

She’s sitting so pretty,

and no one knows,

how ugly she feels,

inside.
