City Lights At Dawn

January 2002 Poetry The city lights still shine at dawn,
in remembrance of our fallen fighters.
Our heroes who gave it all,
and gave their lives,
for ours.
The light shines like their souls.
Lighting the day with hope.
Searching for survivors,
in the rubble of 2 fallen towers.
They once stood proud and strong.
Yet now,
they are merely dust,
on crowded city streets.
Gone, but not forgotten.
These terrorists may have brought,
those 2 buildings down in September,
but they’ll never bring America’s spirit down.
Like city lights at dawn,
shining for our fallen fighters.
Gone, but not forgotten.
