I close my eyes tightly
and hold them there
Reflecting nervous thoughts
A grinding manner and twitching heartbeats
pause a future moments occurring.
Pushing the poultry off the counter,
I rummage through the pantry
and hit the streets in search of relief
Through the grass,
grazing the past
it feels good to taste the air
letting go of embarrassing sweat
All the hurt, self doubt
regret.
return to whole
fill this space with seasonal cheers
and close my eyes
Forget the lies
be still again amidst the blazes
Not everyone can be contagious
without purpose or motive to sigh
qualms are there to get you high
and day by day
you pretend this way
So stick out your tongue
depress all the fun
close your eyes
stay shut.
