Author's Notes/Comments:

AS STATED THIS IS AN AIDS TRIBUTE. I WAS WATCHING THE OPRAH SHOW AND THE SHOW WAS ABOUT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.  "AFRICA"  THEY JUST FINISHED READING A BOOK AND THREE MEMBERS OF OPRAHS BOOK CLUB WENT TO "AFRICA"...... SO MANY PEOPLE IN AFRICA HAVE AIDS. THERE WAS ONE SEGMENT WERE A WHOLE FAMILY IN AFRICA HAD AIDS. AND THEY SAY THAT MOST OF THE WOMEN GET AIDS FROM THEIR HUSBANDS. AND GUESS WHAT?.... WHEN THEY FIND OUT THEY HAVE AIDS ( THE WOMEN ) THEY EXPRESS TO THEIR HUSBANDS WHAT HAS HAPPEND AND THAT THEY ARE SICK THE HUSBAND KICKS THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE AND SHE IS DEAMD USELESS.
WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS? IT WAS HE ( THE HUSBAND ) WHO GAVE IT TO HER.
~LETS PUT AN END TO THIS MADNESS.
~FOR IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TO LONG.

I've never commented on this poem because I can't relate to it. I can try to imagine what it's like, but it's to no avail. I'm sorry. I have thought about it, watched shows about it, read articles about it. I do feel sorry for their friends, families, and lovers that have to live without them because there isn't a cure for AIDs, but mere medicines to drawl out the process of it to slow it down. I'm sorry people have died from it and hope there will be a cure some day. I am also glad people care enough to make quilts, donate, and dedicate for the cause. Maybe, you should try getting people to donate money for the cause isntead of only reading about the horrors. It would do more for them. Consider it.
