MOTHER,
You were like no other.
Doing the best you could.
I understood.
Times were hard.
You were scared.
The voices overcame you, telling you what to do.
Mentaly you were not there.
I
Could not bare to see you in that state.
At grandmas we would wait.
Only not to see you again for days.
~
Before you left this last time;
"SORRY! My Dear", Is what you said to me.
The fallowing week you left for good.
I said it to you then
And I will say it now.
" It is ok,
For you did your best.
Everthing in life is a test.
You took care of me for as long as you could.
I know,if you could have done more you would have.
~
So don't feel bad.
It was my pleasure
As a loving daughter to be there for you at the time you needed me the most.
Thank you for what you have given me ( life) and the wounderful times that we had shared.
that is beautiful, the love is still there. Mental illness touches many of us and You have shed a little more light on it.
one love Corey & co
I'm sure your mom appreciates this piece if you wrote it for her or about her or maybe another woman who was like a mother to you. Even if you were just using a persona, this piece is compelling. It has so much love and beauty. Thanks for sharing.
