As they were standing there, it was the dark of nearly midnight on the coldest winter night of the year, but it seemed as though a light was glowing and lit them up like a stack of gold. They held each other's hands and fell into a staring trance, just looking into the other's eyes as if they could see something on the other side. But all they saw was a deep love for one another, and nothing more. He wanted to tell her he loved her but her blue eyes of the heavens sucked him in and left him speechless. She longed to tell him she loved him as well although she couldn't. The strength of his chocolate-brown eyes was so powerful she could hardly breathe. Then, suddenly, she gasped as he gently told her how much he loved her. But she knew she couldn't say the same.
