Angels In Disguise

Folder:
Christian

What if angels walked among us

And we didn’t even know

The guy on the corner holding the sign

Could just be hiding his radiant glow

What if an angel looked right at you

Through a pair of dark sunglasses

And you didn’t attempt to greet her

Or even look at her as she passes

What if an angel knocked on your door

Looking for something to eat

Would you invite him inside your home

Or would you turn him back to the streets?

What if angels walk around everyday

Disguised as people like you and I

And you didn’t even care to know

Because they don’t have wings to fly

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem was inspired by a couple I gave food to in TX one Christmas, at Walmart, as they were passing through, and their truck was on empty, and they with no money. He held a sign up saying "Stranded...need food and gas for truck - May God Bless You!"
I never forgot those people, and I hope they got to where they were headed...they'll always be in my heart.
