THE REAL YOU

I SAW YOUR FACE AND WE STARTED TO SPEAK,

AS  I GOT TO KNOW YOU MY HEART FELT WEAK.

AT THAT MOMENT I WAS CONSUMED IN YOU,

CONSUMED IN THE CONVERSATION AND THE THINGS

YOU DO,

I SAW YOU STRUMMING YOUR GUITAR AS YOU SANG YOUR SONG,

OF A LOVE YOU LOST, THAT WENT SO WRONG.

TIME WENT ON AND MORNING STARTED PEAKING,

OBLIVIOUS OF THE TIME  YOU AND I CONTINUED SPEAKING.

ATLAST WE SAID GOOD BYE AND PARTED WAYS.

WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE FOR YOU TO STAY.

THE DAY WITH YOU LEFT ME WITH A HUNGER,

A HUNGER TO KNOW YOU BETTER.

WHEN YOU WERE GONE I STAYED AWAKE AND WROTE A LETTER.

I SEEMED TO BE BLOCKED, COULDN'T COME UP WITH

WORDS TO SAY.

THEN STROLLING AROUND I SAW YOU TODAY.

SAW THE REAL FACE, THE REAL YOU.

I REALIZED THEN BEFORE WE STARTED WE WERE THROUGH.

I ALMOST BECAME A STATISTIC OF THE LIES YOU TELL SO WELL.

THE THINGS I SAW IN YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL I KNOW, BUT OUTSIDE

YOU'RE SO DECIEVING.

I REALIZED SOON ENOUGH, GLAD I DIDN'T GO ON BELIEVING.

YOU SEEMED TO BE A MAN WITH NO FLAWS OR IMPERFECTIONS.

THEN I SAW THE REAL YOU, THROUGH THE LIES SAW YOUR REFLECTION.
