Lightly browned beef hair hides
under a raspberry water cap
as rippling masculine muscles cut
smoothly through lucid, tepid water
faster, faster, faster, faster, faster
with flip-flopping feet propelling, pushing
his lean, muscular, bronze body
forward until he has successfully
completed each intense swimming lap
and his roasted honey eyes
smile savory with growling gratitude
in achieving another standing ovation
before proudly taking first place
at the summer Olympic games
for America's men's swimming team.
