Drenched Poetry
by Karyn Indursky
Pave me roads of autumn leaves
that crunch from adverbs dancing.
Let my hair blow like free birds
of adjectives gliding over honeydew
typos. Allow my clothes to hug my curves
as a second skin of prepositions.
Surrender a piece of parchment for
me to crave my writing into
like a butterfly leaving footprints.
Let humming evening hues paint
me reddish blue skies with
smears of velvet lyrical stars
daring me to grab one. Watch
my hands paint themes
one stroke at a time. Shatter my
solitude with drops of
colorific brainstorms.
