I could be
a freak show...
all by myself.
I get so
many gawks, stares, comments.
I'd be rich
if all I got was a dollar
for people's rude
behaviors and comments.
It's as though
they've never seen
sunburn before.
Yes, I have it really bad
on my face, arms, shoulders, legs,
but I shouldn't be
treated and looked upon
as a freak.
When this sunburn
turns to tan
I will no longer
be a freak show.
