Dancing Lake Erie blue eyes
lose their rhythm in
finding out she's been
stood up by another guy
without so much as a phone call
for common courtesy or respect
when knowing her high heeled feet
are being wasted upon
sitting on her porch swing
as her long bare legs
graze in fading sunlight
while chilly honeysuckle breezes
tickle her fire hydrant yellow
strands of hair drifting loosely
around her Hawaiian dress
as she slowly lets her
sailboat soul drift away to be
lost to rejection.
