Winter's Mask
Karyn Indursky 2/22/11
Spring hides beneath
snow-covered boots
like a squirrel,
who snatched the last peanut.
Spring hides beyond
snowmen making hands
like a bird's nest
waiting to chirp.
Spring hides between
snow piles
like a pouncing puppy
begging for walks.
Spring hides behind
snowy forts
like an outstretched hand
right beyond your reach.
