Welcome Home

There is no better greeting
than Conner's magnificent blue eyes
smiling at me as he becomes aware
of my return home
and his outstretched arms
reach to wrap me in a hug
while he runs to me
with complete abandon
out of his unconditional love
for me, which I fully reciprocate
and couldn't imagine anything
sweeter, extraordinary, endearing
as my beloved son
welcoming me home.
