I'm an ostrich
with my head
buried deep within
the gritty sand
never wanting removal
for if I
dare extraction from
my beloved haven
I will see
judgments, labels, criticisms
of my world
given to me
by my God
not to destroy,
but to love
no matter what
lies on surfaces
painted in masks.
