Nature's Fingers Of Love

Karyn Indursky

Tree leaves whistle a sweet jazz song
with chiming crickets rubbing their wings
together as dripping water plops upon
skipping rocks thumping like drummers
beating their intense rhythmic beats in
accompanying violin hummingbirds singing
bittersweet lyrics from their soul of
passion while woodpeckers do their
rud-a-tat-tat, rud-a-tat-tat-tat, rud-a-tat-tat
into flute bark carrying out various
notes in tune with crispy grass crunching
beneath pattering goat's feet stomping out
its own melody before running from deer
hooves snapping twigs in unison to
falling acorns pounding relentlessly on cement
next to the cats meowing their chorus
at twinkling star smiles growing while snapping
nature's fingers of love.
