Seeing Red (Haiku)

Seeing Red (Haiku)

Karyn Indursky

He's almost asleep.
Brother and nephew wake him.
Your anger's mounting.

Told them about it.
Neither of them gives a damn.
Brother sticks out tongue.

Telling them again.
Yet, their attitudes remain.
Brother makes rude sounds.

Calling your mother.
Listening to suggestions.
It's to no avail.

Overly annoyed.
Considering your revenge.
Too mature for it.

Wanting them to leave.
Or at least they could shut up.
Baby's all cranky.

Not helping with him.
But you have to baby-sit.
Nephew had no nap.

Fighting for control.
Only did it to help Mom.
Regretting helping.

Stuck helping again.
Yet you won't drive to the store.
You take, but don't give.

I'm sick of this crap.
When I move out, no more help.
Then what will you do?

Maybe, you'll try Zack.
You always do him favors.
Not that it's returned.

Playing X-Box counts?
Ignoring his nephews counts?
Talking trash on you?

Is this what you want?
Should I stop helping you too?
I don't understand.

You'll explain soon
why you're a shitty uncle
unless you start changing.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I love my brother, but he's treating my son and me like crap. He needs to stop.
