Simple Desires

I don't need
fame or fortune,
but someone to hug.
I don't want
materialistic products given,
but delicate butterfly kisses.
I don't need
to dance with an audience,
but a man to slow dance.
I don't want
any random guy,
but the right one with comforting arms.
I don't need
the aroma of expensive cologne,
but a man fresh out of the shower.
I don't want
lines or sweet lies,
but truthful whispers of encouragement, endearment.
I don't need
a fast talking man,
but a man who also listens.
I don't want
a shy, bashful guy,
but a guy who communicates and compromises.
I don't need
flowers or teddy bears,
but endearing affection and love.
I don't want
an occasional date,
but a man not only for myself,
but a dad for my son.
