Winter

Karyn Indursky

Summer heat fades away.
Birds fly away.
Grass begins to turn brown.
The sky becomes darker.

Fall come with a fresh start.
More birds fly south.
Grass continues to turn brown.
The sky gets darker.
Weather becomes colder.
Colorful leaves decorate the ground.
Leaves crumple, turn brown, and die.

Winter is here before we know it.
Plants die.
People get sick, injured, and die.
Many things come to an abrupt end.
Life is unsettled.
Feelings, thoughts, ideas, and opinions are stirred up.
Things have changed again.
As many things are closed, more things are open.
