Walking in solidarity
when the universe
seems to want
a personality I don't have.

Walking briskly alone
when the universe
apparently desires
an attitude I haven't acquired.

Walking steep hills
when the universe
has a growling stomach
and will starve
before I conform
to be a woman
I am not.
