The Early Works

She passed by my abode daily
Observing through the window as I sat
Painting murals on irregular faces
Her essence was present ages after she left
Inclining my inspiration to dance a new step
Every colour I needed was set
All I needed was to begin
Lifting my brush to the page
Levitating the picture to the page that lay within
Every motion to be made I’d rehearsed a thousand times
Never before has a masterpiece so much courage required
Yet to the easel I must rise
On account of this new vibe, new jive
Unceasing like a raging fire in my mind
All fires must be fed or put out sometime but I’d
Rather keep it going with the help of the wind
Every day she passes but never has come in
Must I blow her away to suck her in
Yeast needs heat so heat I must bring
Scribe in the sky behind her eyes
Offer more than meets the eye with room for surprise
Neat portfolio framed for her to buy
God is the true painter I just breached copyright
