What do I know?

Black track to Africa the black point of reference
If black is a state of mind then most blacks aint been black,
Even in our memories
The essence of black pats Africa on the back for the birth of our cultural being
And if every edition of black has to track back to that
Why not let the Afro stay as a hairstyle and let the other half simply be Caribbean
We know the majority to Africa have never been

My father once said
Son, as long as you’re a black man you’re an African
Well that put paid to my plan to be American
So…I have to have every jab under the sun
Including the malaria ones
Ask Africa for an autograph and an ID card just to be one
That’s probably why more white people are legitimate Jamaicans
Maybe I should have been born white with a spray tan and adopted by black parents at birth
For the motherland is the land of my mother and it is her nature that decides my elementary worth
I feel hurt

Apartheid era
White on black racism
In some places its black on black racism
I call it shadism
Dark divisions
Aversion to the light position
We fight in society for the high position without all this division
How many Jamaicans curse the television when their played in soaps by an African and admit it
Probably not one

So understand that my Blackman ism
Aint a result of any African ism
But a hybrid of human nature ism
Some Jamaican ism
Cultural favouritism and spiritual resistance
With whatever whiteness is tipped in
Besides why would I make spurious claims that Caribbean lifestyle is the idyllic model of relaxation for western Europeans

Black wasn’t patented in Africa
Black is my skin and me
Its what I’m living
