The sky cried today.
I could tell that it wasn’t just rain because I heard her heart break and I saw the pain flash in her eyes.
The sky cried today.
Never before had she been so upset; tears flooded the streets and washed away walls meant to protect.
The sky cried today.
She cried until she had nothing left to give, and when that happened, the rivers took her stead.
The rivers raged today.
They tore through homes as if they were nothing and through people like they were even less.
The rivers raged today.
In mere minutes, they destroyed what had taken months to build and years to perfect.
The rivers raged today,
And if for only a short while, they took back what was rightfully there’s, and what they will never again call home.
The sky will smile tomorrow.
She will see that her tears had punished those that have suppressed her and she will realize they have been punished enough.
The sky will smile tomorrow.
She will kiss the rivers that so selflessly waged war with her and return them to their newly cleansed and peaceful homes.
The sky will smile tomorrow,
And when she does, all will be as it was and all will be renewed, but her wrath will never be forgotten. For the sky cried today.
