I have touched the darkness
And I’ve found comfort in the silence of the night.
I have found joy in the shadows
When the sun, itself, has filled me with fright.
Dawn’s vibrant colors blister
And noon’s scorching rays burn my soul.
But dusk’s pale blues calm me
And midnight’s deep hues make me whole.
I have felt the emptiness of the stars
And been filled with sorrow from the moon beaming down.
But the darkest of nights somehow soothes me
When it’s me and myself, with only rays of darkness streaming down.
