I hit the snooze

and roll back over

only to find

emptiness and a dream

I close my eyes

and look back over

only to find

sadness and a smile

I sit down

and think back over

only to find

despair and a hope

I stand back up

and skim back over

only to find

loneliness and a friendship

I awake today

and roll back over

only to see

the day begin

I open my eyes

and look ahead

only to see

insanity await

I go about my day

and dream again

only to see

you again

I lie back down

and sleep again

only to see

my reality begin
