The Kids on the Road

You seem to be away

You promise you would always stay

But today it no longer goes that way

The clouds pour down their silver liquid

And speed is getting to be quickened

I’m thinking about where we went wrong

And how none of us ever got along

So you pass around the booze

Thinking you all had nothing to lose

Suddenly the twinkie turns without warning

Then you wake with angry parents imploring

Why were you flooring

The car was going way too fast

You were wishing that the questions didn’t last

Then you try to get up and you spot a cast

The nurse walks with sad signs showing

You wish that your friend’s parent’s faces were glowing

This was all because you couldn’t be slowing

You killed your friends

They were supposed to last until the end

Luckily the younger kids

All most of them got were skids

But the five who died

Their parents screamed as they cried

Guilt is all you’ll have for the rest of your life

Now your girlfriend in the back won’t be your wife
