Quietly the water flows around the bend
I stop and ask, "When will it end?"
The wind screams restlessly in my ear
Warning me of a danger coming near
How much longer do I fear
And can only think of those most dear
The current seems to catch my cries
Fear flashes away from bewildered eyes
Quiet the water has become again
Fate I thought gave me the desolate end
Now my soul has to befriend
The girl who sits by herself in the dark
Who sings with the beauty of a lark
But tainted and torn she has become
None of the beauty remains with the setting sun
I ask her, "Am I the one to be all alone?
For my kindred spirit is waiting to come home."
Then she says with a smile,
"You can't go back, your heart was too senile."
Then as I sit and scream
I finally awake realizing it was only a dream
