Your hatred you focus on me

I knew that I can't make you see

The pain that I hold inside of me

I stare at you as you cry

And hear you say you wanted to die

All I can do is just ask why

Your only reply an anguished sigh

Then I make a move too bold

As I reached out for your hand to hold

Out on becoming dead and cold

Because with you I wanted to grow old

Then I began to cry with you

Then I said," Leaving you is something I cannot do."

You saw the truth in my eyes

And knew that I couldn't tell you lies

A smile ran across my face as you said

"For you I will never ask to be dead.

I promise I will stay alive,

So one day we can both thrive."

The tears of joy ran down my face

As you gave me a reassuring embrace
