It Started Here

I close my eyes and hear the sounds,

of muskets firing a thousand rounds.

Minutemen falling on the village green,

all of these things are clearly seen.

Boxes tossed and filled with tea,

floating slowly out to sea.

White men dressed with faces red,

patriots all until they?re dead.

The shot heard around the world,

as the new flag was first unfurled.

Massachusetts and Paul Revere

all our freedom got started here.

Stand up and shout above the crowd,

Americans all, we should be proud.
