Sisterhood

Folder:
2003 Poetry

Grown women looking back at childhood,

as they walk hand in hand in there innocence.

Wondering how those hours turned into years,

while developing into this feeling of sisterhood.

Warm and loving friendship now holding fast,

even though the hands of time go faster now.

Their lives completely interwoven like the sea,

their flow surging and ebbing in the same direction.

It doesn't matter that their lives go by much faster,

with the responsibilities of separate loves and families.

Changing times have caused no rift in this bond,

sweetened by only tracking the hours on the dial.

Reflections of the past held strong in their hearts,

though time is much different by today's standards.

Memories of times gone are turned into glue,

holding these women together in special friendship.

It's like the one above had planned this from the start,

bringing two separate spirits together at an early age.

They have carried each other through their long lives,

allowing each other to grow and develop on their own.

This poem is so true. I have same
friends for twenty-five years, and
more. Forever binding. Nice poem.

this is a wonderful piece and shows the genuine friendships that can last a life time..Makes me wonder if the newest generation coming up will be able to do the same down the road..let's face it,they can't hold hands with a computer nor can it hug them, wipe their tears or console them a human contact can..
